Jamia bags 2nd Prize in Sir Syed Memorial Debate Competition

[Note: Following is a Jamia press release.]

It is a matter of pleasure that Jamia Millia Islamia has won the 2nd Prize in Sir Syed Memorial Debate Competition held at Aligarh Muslim University on March 3 & 4, 2011. The topic of the debate was “Politics of Identity has outlived its utility”.

The Jamia team participated in the competition in all languages viz. English, Hindi & Urdu. Out of the 30 teams, students of Jamia won in Urdu language. Also, Jamia also won the overall best team prize along with a cash prize and running trophy.

Jainendra Kumar — BA (Mass Media) – 2nd Year

Armaan Ansari — MA (Hindi)

Urdu

Mehmood Asim — BA (Arabic) – 2nd Year

Md. Ishtiyaque — BA (Political Science) – 2nd Year

Kushgra Nigam, Praveen Pandey, Sumbhul Fatima and Hameedur Rehman had also participated in the competition.
