Asma Yaqoob, a PhD student in the department of psychology, manager at YES, and trainer for the workshop, said while addressing the students, that public speaking is an acquired skill which can be honed with hard work and regular practice. She shared other valuable information and ideas with the students for their career building.

The program laid emphasis on: basics of communication and barriers to communication, active listening, communication style assessment, assertiveness, body language, public speaking and presentation skills.

She said, planning is very important in career building. Hence, if one fails to plan, he plans to fail. She also said that silence is a tool and not an enemy. However, we must know when we should prefer silence than to speak something.

By showing some video clips she motivated the students to do something good in their careers and lives.

However, the main focus of the workshop was to build the capabilities of youth to meet the demands of today’s world.
