R. Nithya, Jamia Journal Writer, to Release her Debut Novel at Jamia

It is a matter of pride for Jamia Journal to announce, that one of its staff writer, R. Nithya, is going to be a published author with the launch of her debut novel titled, “Treadmills and Push-up Bras,” on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 11.30 a.m. in the Conference Hall of FTK-Centre for Information Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia.

The book will be released by Mr. Tejeshwar Singh, motivational speaker and author of the book, “I’ve Had Enough… God!!!.”

According to the publisher, “Treadmills and Push-up Bras” is written in a beautiful albeit simple style, and employs poetry where appropriate, this novel represents young India on the march – an India that has finally unleashed freedom to its young sons and daughters.

This is a story of the thrills and emotions of three girls and their boyfriends in their final year of high school. Discover what love for the young children is all about, and how seriously they take it, as they experience the passion and transience of this revolutionary era.

The story is a touching account of India’s youth, and an expression of the love they find in themselves and others at the cornerstone of their lives.

About the Author:

R. Nithya

Born in Chennai, Nithya spent her childhood in Varanasi and her teenage years in Gurgaon before moving to New Delhi. She graduated from the University of Delhi with a degree in journalism, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in political science at Jamia Millia Islamia, where she is a staff writer for Jamia Journal, an independent student-run newspaper. Nithya is also a poet and has been writing stories since her teenage years.

The book is priced at Rs. 295, which will be on sale at the launch. Buyers will  have the opportunity to have the book signed by the author.
