For Jamia Death in the Family is not a Good Enough Reason to Miss Class

According to a Hindustan Times report titled “HC allows jamia student to take exams” dated June 4 — Mohamed Asadullah, a second year dentistry student, was debarred from taking his final exams on account of not having the required percentage of class attendance.

He reportedly had a good reason to miss class. During the course of his semester, Asadullah’s sister died, which caused him to miss enough classes to run short of the required number of classes to be eligible to take his annual exams.

Assadullah took Jamia to court on this and got the Delhi High Court to instruct Jamia to let him take his exams.
