During the course of the interaction, the group, which has been on a tour of India starting 4th February, repeatedly expressed happiness and gratitude for the way they have been treated in India. “We have had a wonderful time and have travelled to Agra, Shimla and finally Delhi. We are honored to be here,” said Prof. Alina, a faculty member at FCC, Lahore.

The students shared their experience of the tour so far but also discussed issues ranging from the education system in Pakistan to the similarities between Indian and Pakistani culture, their love for Indian food and Bollywood. “We are here to know the cultural and ethical values, similarities and differences between India and Pakistan,” voiced one of the students. On the topic of Indian movies, another student remarked humorously, “Pakistan is divided when it comes to choosing the favourite among the three Khans of Bollywood.”

The group was all praise for Indian food and hospitality. While speaking to Jamia Journal, Faizal Khan, a student of FCC said, “When we entered India, we were afraid of how things might turn out because many inside battles have been going on between India and Pakistan but all our worries were put to rest,” adding that he definitely believes peace can be achieved between India and Pakistan in the coming times.

The group, however, refused to comment on the recent LOC skirmishes and other political issues that have largely determined Indo-Pakistan relations from time to time.

At the end of the session, the student delegation from Pakistan thanked Jamia for giving them the opportunity to talk and interact with students of Jamia.
