Jamia Team for Western Vocal Group Competition in MiRAAS

The group was accompanied by Mr. Apam Shimray, professor in the Department of English, .

After talking to Prof. Shimray, we learned that the group was Jamia’s team for the Western Vocal Group competition in the MiRAAS inter-university festival, and Prof. Shimray was their team coach. They were all practicing for their chance to perform in the MiRAAS festival later that afternoon.

Jamia’s team, or band, consists of six members, namely: Aaqib (Meghalaya) and Goubert (Nagaland) on the guitar, Maryam (Nigeria), Emily (Mauritius), Aryok (West Bengal) as vocals, and an American who was not present at the time. All except Goubert and the American are students in the department of English.
