IASE, Faculty of Education Celebrates Annual Day 2013

Institute for Advanced Studies in Education (IASE), Faculty of Education, JMI celebrated its Annual Day on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Ansari Auditorium. The chief guest for the event was Major General Ian Cordozo (Retd), Chairman of Rehabilitation Council of India.

The function started with Qirat by Noor Anzar followed by a welcome address by the Co-Curricular Activities Coordinator Mrs. Zubaida Habeeb. After the Jamia Tarana, the Vice President of Subject Association of IASE presented the Annual Report of the Subject Association.  The event also included a Rajasthani folk song, qawwali, ghazal and a play on inclusive education.

Mementos were presented to the Chief Guest and members of the Subject Association by Professor Aejaz Masih, Dean, Faculty of Education. This was followed by a prize distribution ceremony. After distribution of prizes Prof Aejaz Masih presented the Annual Report of IASE. The Chief Guest, General Cordozo, also addressed  the students  in an inspiring speech about overcoming adversities and striving to excel. He gave anecdotes from his own life about how he overcame his disability to rise to the highest rank in the Indian Armed Forces. (Gen. Cordozo has a prosthetic limb).

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Zubaida Habeeb followed by a rendition of the National Anthem.
