Freshers Party 2013 – Dept. of Biotechnology

The Department of Biotechnology organized a Freshers Party at the newly built Srinivasa Ramanujan Block on 21 September 2013.

Being one colorful affair, the freshers bash thrown by the students of Biotechnology rocked the day for all the party attendees. The very purpose of it was to welcome new-comers in a friendly atmosphere to encourage their creative impulses to boost their confidence.

Dr. Mohammad Hussain and Mr. Kapil Dev addressed the students and wished them a bright future.

Hosted by the seniors of M.Sc. as well as B.Sc., the programme began with Mr. Osama Mukhtar, a B.Sc. 3rd year student, reciting the holy verses of Quran followed by its translation by Rasha Irshad, also a B.Sc. 3rd year student.This was followed by the usual introductory session.

The eye catching moments were the dance performance of Azhar Chaudhary, M.Sc. 2nd year student and Saba Khan of the same class who livened up the place with her mesmerizing voice by singing a beautiful song.

The highlight of the event was the Mister and Miss Fresher contest in which the freshers walked the ramp gracefully and participated in many games. Amjed Beig and Upasana Bajaj from M.Sc., and Aamir and Sofia from B.Sc. were declared as Mister and Miss freshers respectively. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony.

It was a colorful occasion as freshers were dressed in their best attire. The team-work of ‘Biotechies’ could easily be recognized by the kind of arrangements they had made; be it food, DJ or hosting the party. All the seniors did their best to make the party a success. Some of the names worth mentioning are Nur Amin, Bushra, Zarmeena, Ishfaq Majeed, Sana Akhter, Madiha, Faraz, Mohit, Lubna, and Rasha.
