Faculty of Education Conducts Inter-House ‘Wall Magazine’ Competition

Institute of Advanced Studies & Education (IASE), Faculty of Education organised an inter-house “Wall Magazine” competition at the Faculty of Education, on Thursday, 13th March 2014.

All the students of B.Ed. and ETE are divided into eight houses that are named after social and educational figures such as Zakir, Sayyadain, Gandhi, Azad, Nehru, Ajmal, Ansari and Mujeeb house, in which each house is assigned a faculty adviser who guides the students for different cultural and camp activities during the session.

On the day of Wall Magazine display event each house prepared a “Wall Magazine” based on their respective houses’ name. There were eight magazines prepared on Pastel sheets which displayed creativity, art, calligraphy and sketches on the theme. Judges were Prof. Shakir Khan (Retired), Faculty of Education; Prof. Wahida Khan, Department of Psychology; Prof. Kailash, Faculty of Fine Arts; who reviewed the magazines.

Two students from each house did a presentation showcasing their magazine by explaining how they created the magazine: the layout, the pictures, the sketches and about the life of the educationist their magazine was based on, and their contribution to education in social services.

All judges assessed the presentation for all the eight houses and judged them on the basis of creativity of the magazine, on the relevance of the content of the magazine, and on their presentation. They also gave suggestions on ways to improve their work.

Winners of the contest will be declared and awarded on the Faculty of Education Annual Day, scheduled to be held on Tuesday, 25th Marc 2014.
