Jamia Electronics Alumni Association Conducts 2nd Alumni Meet

Electronics Alumni Association-JMI organized their second alumni meet on Sept. 13, 2015 in Engineering auditorium, Jamia Millia Islamia. The auditorium was packed with a crowd of more than 300 including 15 entrepreneur alumni and more than 100 alumni who hold respectful positions in government sectors and multinational companies.

The second alumni meet began with a recitation from the Holy Quran. This was followed by the Jamia Tarana, glimpses of last alumni meet and introductory speech by Md. Khalid Hasan, member of Jamia Electronics Alumni Association – JMI. In his address he threw some light on the objectives of Jamia Electronics Alumni Association.

He also made the audience aware of their achievement as he mentioned, “In our first meet we decided to provide free technical training services to Jamia students and then one of the organizers Mr. Sharique Akhtar started the non-profitable organization My Job Adda where we are providing free technical training to Jamia students in Information Technology such as VM Ware, Networking and soft skills.”

He added, “We are also developing a website to make a better network and connectivity. The Website will have options to filter the alumni by year of passing, by course, by profession and by the company. After the introductory speech the video message of the alumni residing abroad and who could not attend the meet were shown to the audience.

Prof. A.Q. Ansari, Officiating Dean welcomed the Chief Guest Honorable Vice-chancellor Prof. Talat Ahmad, faculty members and alumni present in the auditorium. Chief Guest Prof. Talat Ahmad addressed the audience and said, “we are connecting alumni of Jamia across the globe and its very nice initiative taken by the organizers and he urged alumni to connect and contribute to their alma mater.” He also said, “I am surprised to know first alumni meet of electronics alumni association was organized outside the campus.” He added, “Alumni have rights to organise such kind of event in the campus as this university belongs to them and they are free to organize programs in Jamia and administration will give full support to them.”

Later some alumni addressed the gathering, the speakers who addressed the audience included Mr. Faisal Abbas , Founder RNF Technologies; Mr. Sachin Gaur, Founder Mix Org; Mr. Zuhaib Khan, Founder Shop at Places; Mr. Sharique Akhtar, Founder My Job Adda; Mr. M. A. Johar, Vice-President HFCL; Mr. Saibal Roy, Vice-President sales (India), Airtel; and Mr. Faiz Ahmad, Founder SFRI.

Later during the open interaction session, one of the alumni, Mr. Saibal Roy (VP – Airtel) told the audience that he came back Jamia after 26 years post completion of his degree. He thanked organizers for bringing Jamia and its alumni closer.

Program concluded with the vote of thanks given by Prof. Mainddin senior alumni and HOD, Electronics and Communication. He thanked Chief Guest Prof. Talat Ahamd and the alumni who managed to make time from their busy schedule to be a part of the alumni meet. He also appreciated all volunteers inlucing Md. Aslam, Suhail Ahmad, Shams Aaghaz, Atif Nehal, Rehan Alam, Mohd Wazid, to organize this event successfully.
