Speaking on behalf of the newly formed Jamia Millia Islamia Alumni Association – U.S. chapter (JMIAA-US), Tauheed Khan, a member of JMIAA-US and a current resident of Ohio, informed Jamia Journal in an email that Jamia alumni residing in the U.S. have this year formed a JMIAA-US chapter and have already conducted two alumni meet in two different regions of the U.S.
The first meet was conducted two months ago in California on the West Coast, organized by the co-founder of JMIAA-US, Tasnif; and the second alumni meet was held in Chicago in the Mid-West, organized by the other co-founder of JMIAA-US, Rizwan Ali.
According to Tauheed, in the alumni meet held in Chicago, among other things discussed at the meet up, the alumni association had resolved to offer mentoring assistance to Jamia students considering continuing their education in the U.S.
Assistance will be in the form of providing information, guidance and answering any questions students might have regarding studying in the U.S. In addition, if possible, on-arrival assistance will be provided to students choosing to study in cities with JMIAA-US members.
Students interested in availing their assistance can contact the following JMIAA-US members:
