Jamia Enters Final of All India Inter Varsity Hockey Tournament

Jamia continued its impressive form in the semi final of the All India Inter Varsity Hockey Tournament by registering their fourth consecutive win.

Jamia today defeated Panjab University, Chandigarh by 5-0 at Faculty of Education hockey ground to enter the final of the tournament.

So far, Jamia has scored 27 goals in four matches while conceding just one goal.

Jamia will play Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar in the final on Tuesday, 3rd January 2012 at 2.00 pm. Shri Najeeb Jung, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia, will be the chief guest on the occasion.

This will be a repeat of the final of North Zone Hockey Tournament in which Jamia had defeat GNDU 1-0 to lift the zonal championship last week.

In the other semi final Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar defeated Sambalpur University 5-0.
