The Outreach Programme and Jamia Discussion Forum, Jamia Millia Islamia are going to organize a Talk on “Communal Riots and Women: A Perspective from the Democratic Movement” by Ms. Subhashini Ali, former Member of Parliament and Women’s Rights Activist.
Ms. Subhashini Ali’s talk will cover the gender dimension of communal violence, especially in the wake of the recent landmark judgment in the Naroda Patiya Case as also the latest spate of violence in Kokrajhar, Assam.
Mr. Najeeb Jung, Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia will Chair the Talk. He had recently written an Open Letter to Mayaben Kodnani who was awarded life term in the Naroda Patiya case. The programme is scheduled to be held on October 8, 2012 at 3 PM in Mir Anis Hall, Dayar-I Mir Taqi Mir, Jamia Millia Islamia.
