Pickwick Fest: Three-day Literary Festival at Dept of English

The English Literary Association of Department of English, Jamia Millia Islamia is going to organize a three-day Literary Festival from 15^th to 17^th October, 2012 to commemorate the bicentenary of Charles Dickens and the Centenary of Saadat Hassan Manto – called the Pickwick Fest.

The festival will provide a forum for students from all across Delhi to come and display their skills as well as their expertise on Dickens and Manto by taking part in a plethora of co-curricular events which includes plays, films, quiz, paper presentation, etc

By placing Manto alongside canonical English writer, Charles Dickens, this festival also seeks to make a political statement. Many prominent names like Namita Gokhale, Nilanjana Roy, Palash Krishna Mehrotra, Amandeep Sandhu and Sanjeev Agnihotri will be part of this literary extravaganza.
