The Department of History and Culture, Jamia Millia Islamia is going to organize a Lecture on “Sufi Shrines in Post-Partition Punjab? Dreams, Memory and Continuities” by Dr. Yogesh Snehi, faculty member at School of Liberal Studies, Ambedkar University, Delhi.
Dr. Yogesh Snehi teaches History at Ambedkar University, Delhi and offers a postgraduate course on “The Making of Modern Punjab”. He is also working on the social reform in colonial Punjab. He was awarded a fellowship from Tasveer Ghar that enabled him to create a digital repository of images that are in circulation at popular sufi shrines in contemporary Punjab.
The Lecture is scheduled to be held on October 18, 2012 at 12.15 PM in the Seminar Room of Department of History and Culture, Jamia Millia Islamia.
