Three Day National Seminar on “Manifestations of Indian Culture and Civilization in Urdu Poetry” on Nov 9

The Department of Urdu, Jamia Millia Islamia in collaboration with Ministry of Culture, Government of India is going to organize a 3-day National Seminar on “Manifestations of Indian Culture and Civilization in Urdu Poetry” commencing from 9^th November, 2012.

The Inaugural Session of the seminar is scheduled to be held on November 9, 2012 at 3 PM in FTK-Centre for Information Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia.

Mr. Jawhar Sircar (IAS), CEO, Prasar Bharti will inaugurate the programme.

Mr. Najeeb Jung, Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia shall preside over the function.

Mr Sanjay Mittal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Government of India will be the Guest of Honour in the Inaugural Session.

Prof. Khalid Mehmood, Head, Department of Urdu, Jamia Millia Islamia will deliver the Welcome Speech while Prof. Ateequllah will deliver the Key-Note address on this occasion.

All the working sessions on November 10^th & 11^th will be held in Tagore Hall, Dayar-I Mir Taqi Mir, Administrative Block, Jamia Millia Islamia.

As a part of the seminar, an “All India Mushairah” will be held on November 9, at 7 PM in Dr. M.A. Ansari Auditorium, Jamia Millia Islamia.

Mr. Sanjeev Saraf shall be the Chief Guest of the programme. Prof. Muzaffar Hanfi will preside over the function.

A session of “Chahar Bait” will also be organized on November 10, at 7 PM in Dr. M.A. Ansari Auditorium, where Prof. S.M. Rashid, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia will be the Chief Guest.

Chahar Bait will be held between Satara-e-Hind Kali Paltan, Tonk (Rajasthan) and Bazm-e-Ahbab, Bachraon, J.P. Nagar (Uttar Pradesh).
