The Centre for European and Latin American Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia in collaboration with Embassy of Colombia, in the series of Symposia on Latin American Studies, is going to organize a symposium on “Colombia: Contemporary Affairs”.
Professor Sonya S. Gupta, Director of the Centre, will deliver Introductory Remarks on this occasion.
Following are the details of the Lectures to be held:
Ø “Modern Columbia and Bilterial relations with India” by H.E. Juan Alfredo Pinto, Ambassador of Colombia to India
Ø “Cultural and Human Development in Colombia” by Professor German Rey Beltran, Xaverian University in Bogota, University of Los Andes and the National University of Colombia.
Professor German Rey Beltrán has been Advisor of Andres Bello agreement as coordinator of Social Indicators in Culture, Advisor of cultural policy at the Ministry of Culture in Colombia and Lecturer at multiple events with UNESCO and the Iberoamerican States Organization. Professor Germán Rey Beltrán, a PhD in Psychology of Universidad Complutense de Madrid. German Rey has been professor in Xaverian University in Bogotá, University of Los Andes and the National University of Colombia. He is working as a professor in the Master Program in Culture and Development at Technological University of Bolivar in Cartagena, Colombia and as the Director of the Center for Cultural Production at Xaverian University. German Rey Beltrán is the author of many works on culture and development, cultural industries, and culture and cooperation.
Ø “The Indian Tack towards Latin-American” by Professor Soraya Caro, Ph.D. candidate on India-Latin American Relations from the Faculty of Social Sciences, IGNOU.
Professor Soraya Caro who is working on Indo Latin American Relations at Faculty of Social Sciences, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi.
The programme is scheduled to be held on November 19, 2012 at 2.30 PM in Mir Anis Hall of Dayar-I Mir Taqi Mir, Administrative Block, Jamia Millia Islamia.
