The Centre for European and Latin American Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia is going to organize a National Workshop on “Teaching of Italian as a Foreign Language: Didactic Models and Evaluation Techniques” from January 28-30, 2013.
Dr. Angela Trezza, Director, Istituto Italiano di Cultura, New Delhi will deliver the Inaugural Address on the morning of the opening of the workshop and H.E. Mr. Daniele Mancini, Ambassador of Italy to India, will deliver the Valedictory Speech on the closing of the workshop.
Dr Giovanni Amadori, Director of the Italian Section of Scolastico Evrim Institute, Turkey and Dr Tanya Roy who teaches Italian in Delhi University will conduct the workshop.
The main themes of the workshop are i) Learning Processes of a Second Language ii) Teaching of a Second Language and iii) Learning/Teaching Environment under which the topics of discussion will be: Process of linguistic acquisition, Second language acquisition, Didactic models for teaching of Italian, Language and Culture: Problems related to teaching of Italian outside Italy, What language to teach, Different evaluation techniques, Theory and didactic models for teaching of second language in a given educational and cultural context, Indian education system and Evaluation techniques.
About 25 teachers of Italian and higher level students of the language from various universities and institutes will be attending the workshop who have already registered for it, this being the first of its kind in the country.
The programme is scheduled to be held on January 28-30, 2013 from 10.30 AM – 5.30 PM in Tagore Hall, Dayar-I-Mir Taqi Mir, Administrative Block, Jamia Millia Islamia.
