His Excellency Mr. Najeeb Jung, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of NCT of Delhi and former Vice-Chancellor Jamia Millia Islamia inaugurated the academic building of Residential Coaching Academy today [28 March 2014] in Jamia Millia Islamia.
Addressing the audience, Mr. Najeeb Jung observed that it was extremely important that there was adequate representation of minorities, SCs, STs and people from backward areas in the civil services. He opined that one of the strengths of the Constitution of India was the principle that guarantees equality and fraternity leading to affirmative action. He felt that Jamia Millia Islamia, with an excellent history for the promotion of the cause of the minorities, actualized its enormous strength and potential through commitment and reflection. He requested the Vice-Chancellor of the university to make special allocation for development of library under aegis of Centre for Coaching and Career Planning (CC&CP), Jamia Millia Islamia.
Underlining the strength of Indian bureaucracy, Mr. Najeeb Jung stated that if India were to stay united then the country needed to invest in its people who will lead the nation.
Earlier, Prof. S.M. Sajid, Offg. Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia observed that the former Vice-Chancellor Mr. Najeeb Jung was singularly responsible for the establishment of some of the world class buildings in Jamia. He had pursued his dream projects in the university very vigorously and left no stone unturned to actualize them. He hoped that the civil service aspirants would dedicate themselves for the creation of an egalitarian society. He remarked that the university feels greatly honored by the LG’s presence for the inauguration of the building that will stand the civil service aspirants in good stead.
Prof. Anisur Rehman, Honorary Director, Centre for Coaching and Career Planning (CC&CP) in his introductory remarks praised the Lieutenant Governor for his great vision and immense interest for the residential coaching academy on the campus. The entire project, he stated, fructified owing to his leadership as Jamia Vice-Chancellor.
Earlier, interacting with the students of Residential Coaching Academy who have secured places in the list of successful candidates of Civil Services (Main) Examination 2013 organized by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in December, 2013. Mr. Najeeb Jung inspired them to put their best foot forward for the personality test with confidence, positive thinking, commitment and polite assertions. He stressed the importance of honesty, humility and truthfulness that every individual needs to inculcate.
