April 26, 2015: There are two remarkable changes in Jamia’s admission form this year.
First, there has been an addition of a third gender called “Transgender” under the gender category of the form. So now you have three options to choose from: Male, Female or Transgender.
Second, of which we are not certain if this is the first time, but it’s the first time Jamia Journal has noticed it; and that is the gender neutral field of — “Spouse’s Name” — in case the applicant is married.
We are used to seeing, ‘Husband’s Name’ on forms if the applicant is a married woman, but this is the first time we have noticed, “Spouse’s Name,” which would apply to both married men and women.
