Jamia Senior Secondary School celebrated India’s 62nd Republic Day with full enthusiasm and joy to commemorate the day the Indian Republic was formed. The event took place on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, on school premises.
The function began with the singing of the national anthem, followed by the school tarana. It was performed by a group of girls.
Professor S.M. Rashid, the pro-vice chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia, was the chief guest for the occasion, who had the honor of unfurling the tricolor.
Professor S.M. Sajid, the university registrar; Professor M. Mujtaba Khan, the honorary director of schools; and Mr. Naseeruddin, the school principal, were also present on the occasion to mark the importance of the day.
Active participation was seen from the students, which gave a glimpse of their patriotic fervor towards the country
Rashid concluded the speech with motivating words with hope for a good life, good human and good university and extended his warm greetings to the whole of Jamia fraternity.
