Computer Society Of India, Jamia Millia Islamia organized a concert by the renowned Hindi poet, Kumar Vishwas, on Saturday, March 12, 2011.
The event was organized as a part of the two-day technical and cultural festival ‘ALGORYTHM ’11’, from 12-13 March, 2011, organized by the Computer Society of India, Jamia chapter (CSIJMI).
The poet, Vishwas, has an excellent fan base in the masses, and thus the organizers had anticipated a huge turnout for this attraction.
The event was scheduled to start at 11 a.m. but it started late by 45-minutes; but once started, everyone forgot the wait and joined in the fun comprising of Hindi poems, ghazals, coupled with humor, all in Vishwas’ trademark tone.
Vishwas, who has been dubbed the “Deewana Shayar” got everyone hooked and booked with his excellent verses and touched the chords of everyone present in the audience.
He also sung the poem “Koi Deewana Kehta Hai,” the same poem, which is considered to be one of his best and the source of half of his recognition.
The audience, comprising of students from different faculties and departments, along with some faculty members responded with cheerful applause and raised hands. Many were seen recording his performance on cell phones and other forms of recording devices.
Vishwas thanked everyone for coming out to see him and expressed his appreciation for the love he got from the audience.
Incidentally, it was his performance two-three years back, in a show like this, held at another college, which got him noticed. His performance was recorded and uploaded on the net. The video went viral, and the attention he got for it has made him a much sought after performer.
The concert of nearly 1 hour and 10 minutes came to an end amid much excitement and a desire for more from the audience.
Vishwas left with a promise to return to Jamia for another performance soon.
I was looking for this book for quite a long time, suddenly found it and ordered it.
The delivery was great and the poems are even greater. I would recommend the product if you are fan of Kumar Vishwas and hindi literature.
