SAE INDIA (Society of Automotive Engineers INDIA) Northern section is pleased to present”EFFICYCLE-2013”. EFFICYCLE, initiated by SAE India Northern Section (SAE-NIS), is an intercollegiate design competition for undergraduate students where teams have to design and fabricate an Energy Efficient Hybrid- Human Powered Three-Wheeled Electric Vehicle.
Entering into the 4th season of Efficycle, Chairman-SAENIS & Executive Advisor of Maruti Suzuki India Limited Shri. I.V. Rao said “Young engineers of this millennium are much more creative and innovative, their energy and thoughts needs to be properly channelized. Event likes Efficycle provide them a framework to be Eco-friendly designers, energy conscious and sportier”.
“EFFICYCLE” was conceived and launched in 2010, with successful completion of 3 seasons the Efficycle event is one of the most awaited SAE Collegiate club event. This year overall 190 teams have registered from various prominent engineering colleges and universities across India.
For screening the design concept and overall project envisaged by the individual teams, a virtual round is being organized in the month of June-July 2013. This time virtual round is being organized in 6 zones nationwide at IIT-Patna, UIET-Chandigarh, SRM University-Chennai, Amruthvahini College of Engineering-Sangamner, Jamia Milia Islamia-New Delhi and Dayananda Sagar College of Engg.-Bangalore.
In North-2 zone 43 teams are participating from various engineering college of Delhi, UP and Uttrakhand. The event is being held at Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi.
Convener Efficycle’13 & GM -Body Design Division, Maruti Suzuki India Limited Mr. Alok Jaitley, said “Efficycle event provides an opportunity to engineering students for innovation, application of engineering learning’s and to generate consciousness towards environment friendly mobility solution”. Mr. U.D. Bhangale, Co-Convener, Efficycle’13 & Sr. GM (Strategic Business Planning), International Centre for Automotive Technology said “Students have to tackle real world engineering problems and work in multidisciplinary teams, Efficycle event help them build this skill and groom their inherent talent.”
The qualifying teams from Virtual rounds will be invited to bring their vehicle at UIET, Chandigarh in end September’13 and compete against each other fulfilling the GO Green Spirit of Efficycle.
